Danilo Gonçalves Saraiva National Tick Collection (CNC)

The parasitic diseases laboratory maintains the “Danilo Gonçalves Saraiva National Tick Collection (CNC)”, which includes more than five thousand batches of ticks from all of Brazil's federal units and several Latin American countries, as well as some batches from North America, Africa, Asia and Europe.

The CNC is considered to be the largest collection of ticks in Latin America, and is the faithful depository of several new species of ticks described in Latin America during this century.
