Parasitic Diseases Laboratory (Pirassununga Campus)

The Parasitic Diseases Laboratory in Pirassununga began operating in 2008 and is dedicated to the study of diseases caused by protozoa such as Sarcocystis, Giardia, Cryptosporidium, Leishmania and Toxoplasma. The laboratory's activities include scientific research into the development and validation of diagnostic methods, as well as studies into the epidemiology and evolution of these parasites. The research also aims to identify new approaches to controlling these diseases, which affect both humans and animals.
